Simbavati Hilltop Lodge

South Africa

The sought-after Timbavati Private Game Reserve is home to the romantic and ultra-luxurious Simbavati Hilltop Lodge. Honeymooners and luxury seekers will delight in knowing that each suite has its very own private plunge pool and viewing deck overlooking the river.

The romantic and sophisticated Simbavati Hilltop Lodge in the Timbavati Private Game Reserve is one of the most well-positioned lodges in the area. Resting upon a hilltop and offering breathtaking views of the untamed bushveld and Drakensberg Mountains in the distance, Simbavati Hilltop is the perfect getaway for a luxurious and intimate safari experience. Home to the Big 5 and other rare species, African wild dogs and leopard are particularly prominent in this area.

Part of the luxurious Simbavati brand, Hilltop Lodge is the perfect choice for honeymooners, romantics, and luxury seekers. The entire lodge is designed with sustainability in mind, but never compromises on style. Step into the lodge’s main area, and you’ll immediately notice its airy and tranquil atmosphere. Highlights include an infinity pool for those sweltering Kruger days, a spa treatment area to elevate your safari experience, and a well-stocked bar offering 360° views of the surrounding wilderness. Additionally, Simbavati Hilltop Lodge is also known for its cuisine, which only amplifies your indulgent Kruger safari experience.

Simbavati Hilltop Lodge is an intimate safari lodge offering only eight elegant tented rooms. Each tented space has its own private plunge pool and viewing deck, complete with a sala pavilion and double day bed. Huge French doors open onto the deck, leading into a double “rain” outdoor shower with unsurpassed dam views. Each of the tents overlooks the Mbali Dam and the Nhlaralumi River, both major drawcards for a wealth of wildlife. Whether it’s observing dense populations of elephants lumbering down to the river or spotting a rare bird (think Martial eagle) from your balcony, Hilltop Lodge is perfectly suited for moments of bushveld extravagance. Simbavati offers the usual twice-daily game drives, but limits game drives to six people per vehicle. This offers a more personalised and hands-on safari experience.
