Vipingo Ridge offers the PGA Baobab Course, a top-notch golfing destination designed by former Kenya Open winner David Jones. This 18-hole, par-72 course stretches over 6,586 yards and is known for its challenging and picturesque holes. The 18th hole, a demanding par-5, plays uphill towards the clubhouse, providing fantastic views of the surrounding landscape. Don’t miss the 9th hole, which offers dramatic coastal views, making your round of golf as scenic as it is satisfying.
Off the course, the iconic clubhouse at Vipingo Ridge delivers panoramic views, perfect for relaxing after your game. Golfers can also hone their skills at the state-of-the-art driving range or benefit from professional training at the Golf Academy. Modern locker rooms are available, ensuring you have all the comfort you need.
When hunger strikes, multiple dining options cater to every taste, from fine dining to casual bites. For those looking to stay a while, the estate features luxury villas and lodges, offering all the comforts of home with the amenities of a high-end resort. Other perks include a pool, fitness center, and spa – ideal for a bit of post-golf pampering. So pack your clubs and your sense of adventure; Vipingo Ridge is ready to welcome you!
We arrived at Vipingo Ridge on a charter flight, landing on the estate’s private airstrip. As we walked to the terminal, we spotted giraffes peeking over the fence, which was a pretty amazing start! A few minutes later, we were at the clubhouse, enjoying a cold beer with a fantastic view of the course and gearing up for our round.
We walked the course with some friendly local caddies and found the course in fantastic condition, with wide fairways and tricky approaches that keep it interesting without being too punishing. Designed by David Jones, it’s the kind of course anyone can enjoy, no matter their skill level. The views from the ridge are stunning, with the coastline stretching out in the distance, and the sea breeze was a welcome relief from the warm weather.
What makes Vipingo Ridge really special is how it blends the modern course with the natural surroundings. With baobab trees, lush greenery, and tasteful properties plus seeing giraffes and antelope around the course added to the experience.
Having its own airstrip is a big plus for convenience, and if you’re in the area for a while, I’d recommend checking out nearby Nyali Golf Club too.
