In the afternoon, visit the Kigali Genocide Museum. Almost 250,000 victims of the genocide against the Tutsi tribe are buried within the grounds of the Kigali Genocide Memorial. Pay your tribute to the quarter million Rwandans killed during the atrocities that swept the country in 1994.

Check out after breakfast and take a scenic 3.5 hour road transfer to Volcanoes National Park in the northwest corner of Rwanda. Check in to the Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge for 3 nights.

A wildlife experience with the magnificent mountain gorilla is like no other. Savour every second as you watch them foraging, playing, teasing each other, eating or slumbering in an uncanny resemblance to ourselves. Inhabiting areas which are not easily reachable, gorillas reside where there is an abundance of food plants near the ground and think nothing of climbing incredibly lofty hills to get to them. Your formidable trek will be richly rewarded when you first set eyes on these extraordinary creatures. Try to spend as much time as possible here, where Dian Fossey carried out her ground-breaking research.

This is a fun filled day where you step out after breakfast in search of the Golden Monkeys.

Discover the playful and inquisitive nature of the golden monkey, a beautiful little creature found only in the high-altitude forests of the Volcanoes National Park. Spend an enchanted hour watching their frolics as they leap among the slender shoots of bamboo or tumble among the dense foliage on the forest floor. Blending in perfectly with the golden bamboo, they are very pretty, with shiny reddish-gold backs. The scurrying primates inhabit the bottom of the mountain range and the terrain here is relatively flat and easy to hike.

Spend the afternoon in a half-day guided tour of Nairobi including stops at the Karen Blixen Museum - now famous for the book and movie “Out of Africa” and the Giraffe Centre - the latter being home to a towering crew of endangered Rothschild’s giraffes.

This morning after breakfast you will visit the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust on a half-day tour of a Nairobi elephant orphanage that’s home to adorable baby elephants that have been rescued by conservationists. You will love to watch the baby animals frolic in mud bath, get up close to them and benefit from the chance to touch them as their handlers feed them milk.

Return to your hotel and after a short rest, transfer for your next round of golf.

After your final breakfast at Nairobi and an easy checkout, meet your driver who will transfer you to the Wilson Airport. Fly to the Keekorok Airstrip in Masai Mara.

Situated in southwest Kenya, the Mara North Conservancy is a beautiful private wilderness area spanning more than 30,000 hectares. It is home to a spectacular array of plants, reptiles, birds and mammals; including elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion, leopard, cheetah and large concentrations of wildebeest, zebra, gazelle and other migratory wildlife. Leopard Gorge, in the heart of the conservancy, is famous as the setting of countless BBC Big Cat Diaries and National Geographic documentaries. Along with the neighbouring wellknown Masai Mara National Reserve, this conservancy is vital for sustaining the famous Serengeti wildebeest migrations as well as the highly threatened African wild dog and black rhino species.

Enjoy an afternoon game drive with a grand sundowner, followed by a sumptuous dinner at the lodge.

Wake up early with coffee and rusks for a morning game drive or bush walk with expert rangers.

You will visit both the Mara North Conservancy as well as the adjoining Masai Mara National Reserve, and can do either morning, evening or all day game drives. Please note that viewing the main migration river crossings requires a full day out as they are located some way from camp. It’s a bittersweet parting as you catch a 75-minute charter flight back to Nairobi, for your connecting scheduled flight to Mahe and therfeafter to Praslin.

La Digue is also renowned for its smooth copra seeds, impressive granite formations and lusty giant tortoises.
