Embark on an extraordinary 15-day journey through Southern Africa, where every day is filled with remarkable experiences and breathtaking landscapes. This exclusive escorted tour commences in Cape Town, a city known for its scenic beauty and vibrant culture, where you’ll stay at the iconic Table Bay Hotel. The adventure begins with a full-day tour of the Cape Peninsula, taking you on a picturesque journey from Chapman’s Peak to the Cape of Good Hope. You’ll also visit the African penguin colony at Boulders Beach and indulge in a traditional “braai” dinner alongside Christo Brand, former prison guard and friend to Nelson Mandela.

The tour then leads you through the Cape Winelands, where you’ll play golf at Royal Cape Golf Club and enjoy wine tastings at Ernie Els Wines and Rust en Vrede Estate. Your journey continues with a helicopter transfer to Arabella Golf Club and a stay at Lanzerac Hotel & Spa, followed by a round of golf at Pearl Valley Golf Course in Franschhoek. From there, you’ll board the opulent Rovos Rail, often regarded as the most luxurious train in the world, for a scenic three-night journey to Victoria Falls. The train takes you through stunning landscapes, including a dramatic crossing of the Limpopo River and a journey through Baobab Country. At Victoria Falls, you’ll stay at the iconic Victoria Falls Hotel, go on a sunset cruise along the Zambezi River, explore the Falls, embark on a village tour with a traditional dinner, play golf at Elephant Hills Resort, and take a thrilling helicopter flight over the Falls. Your adventure culminates with a visit to Chobe National Park in Botswana, renowned for its abundant elephant population. Here, you’ll enjoy both water-based and land-based safaris before concluding your remarkable journey. This tour is an opportunity to create lasting memories and savor the best of Southern Africa.

Day-by-day

Arrive at Cape Town International Airport, where you’ll be met by our representative. Transfer to the iconic V&A Waterfront and check-in at the Table Bay Hotel for 4 nights. Spend the evening at leisure, perhaps exploring the V&A Waterfront, upon which your hotel is situated. This is a bustling hub of shopping, dining, and live street performances.

After breakfast, you’ll be collected at the hotel for your full day tour of the Cape Peninsula. Your day starts with a scenic drive over Chapman’s Peak, easily one of the most beautiful coastal roads in the world, to the Cape of Good Hope. Here, you’ll take a funicular ride up to a historical clifftop lighthouse, from which you can enjoy panoramic views of the bay. Continue on to the naval town of Simons Town, where you’ll enjoy lunch at Black Marlin Restaurant before visiting the only permanent African penguin colony on the continent at Boulders Beach.

After breakfast, you’ll be collected at the hotel and transferred to Steenberg Golf Club for your round on this stunning course situated on the foothills of Table Mountain.

After your round you’ll be treated to a traditional barbecue, or “braai” dinner at Steenberg, accompanied by Christo Brand, former prison guard and friend to Nelson Mandela. Steenberg holds special significance to Christo, as it was a preferred walking spot to which he brought South Africa’s first democratically elected President during his time incarcerated at Pollsmoor Prison.

After breakfast, you’ll be collected at the hotel and transferred to the vibrant BoKaap neighbourhood of Cape Town, known for its brightly coloured houses and steep, cobbled roads. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to experience the flavours of Cape Malay cuisine, and to learn to prepare a few traditional dishes. This tour blends history and cuisine, as you learn about the process by which people of Malaysian, Indian, and other origins were brought to the Cape and how they shaped the local culture.
 
Your tour ends with a visit to one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, Table Mountain.
 

After breakfast, check out of the hotel and transfer to Royal Cape Golf Club for your round on one of South Africa’s oldest courses. After your round, you’ll be transferred to Stellenbosch in the Cape Winelands for a wine tasting at Ernie Els Wines, giving you the opportunity to witness the Big Easy’s second great passion. You’ll be treated to a tasting of 4 premium wines, accompanied by a cheese and charcuterie board. You’ll be joined by a leading wine expert, who will walk you through the tasting experience. Continue on to Rust en Vrede Estate for a second tasting experience led by your wine expert.

Your day ends at Lanzerac Hotel & Spa, where you’ll check-in for 2 nights.

After breakfast, you’ll be collected by helicopter for a transfer along the stunning Overberg coast to Arabella Golf Club in Hermanus. This gorgeous lagoon-side course is well worth the journey! Return by road to your hotel for an evening at leisure.

After breakfast, check out of the hotel. Transfer to Franschhoek for a round of golf on the Jack Nicklaus designed Pearl Valley Golf Course. After your round, head to Cape Town Airport for your flight to Johannesburg, where you’ll be met by our representative and transferred to the vibey Residence Hotel. Enjoy an evening at leisure at the hotel, perhaps enjoying a treatment at the glorious onsite spa.

After breakfast, check out of the hotel and transfer to Pretoria, where you’ll board the most luxurious train in the world, Rovos Rail. You’ll enjoy a 3 night journey to Victoria Falls, with meals and sightseeing included along the way.

Lunch, high tea and dinner will be served aboard the train, as it winds through the scenic countryside, including a dramatic crossing of the Limpopo River and a journey through Baobab Country.

Your day will be spent at leisure aboard the train. Breakfast, lunch, high tea and dinner will be served as the train passes Bulawayo towards Victoria Falls. You may wish to spend your time in the lounge carts or on the observation deck, reading, chatting with your fellow passengers, or simply enjoying the open landscapes that surround you.

Breakfast and lunch will be served aboard the train. In the afternoon, you’ll disembark the train in Hwange National Park, where you’ll be taken for a game drive through the reserve. Return to the train for dinner and an evening at leisure.

After breakfast, served aboard the train, you’ll disembark at the Victoria Falls Hotel. Check-in for 4 nights. In the early evening, you’ll be collected at the hotel and taken to the riverside for a sunset cruise aboard the Zambezi Royal. This is a highlight of any trip, as the wide waterways offer one of the most awe-inspiring sunset views imaginable. The ever changing colours are reflected on the mirror-like surface of the water, dotted with countless boats and inhabited by a wealth of wildlife.

After breakfast, you’ll be collected at the hotel for a tour of the Falls, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, and a truly magnificent sight to behold. In the afternoon, you’ll depart for a village tour, during which you’ll be treated to a traditional dinner, enjoyed alongside locals.

After breakfast, you’ll be collected at the hotel and transferred to Elephant Hills Resort for a round on one of the wildest courses you’ll play. The course is frequented by antelope and the occasional crocodile.
 
After your round, you’ll take a thrilling helicopter flight over the Victoria Falls, providing the opportunity to truly appreciate the scale and grandeur of this great landmark of the African continent.

After breakfast, you’ll be collected at the hotel and transferred to the Chobe National Park, a short drive across the border in Botswana. The Chobe is home to the densest population of elephants anywhere on the planet. Your day starts with a water-based safari, during which you’ll see wildlife, including a rich diversity of birds, both in the water and along the river banks.

Lunch will be served at a local hotel, after which you’ll depart on a land-based safari through the reserve, providing the opportunity to see different wildlife in different settings.

Return to the hotel for an evening at leisure.

 

After breakfast, check-out of the hotel and transfer to Victoria Falls Airport for your outbound flight.
